Project description
In order to provide the winter road clearance service in the region with comprehensive information on road conditions and weather conditions in the future, SCF has implemented a precise sensor system in Büttelborn together with the waterworks. The project includes a surface sensor that precisely determines road conditions such as wetness, heat and slipperiness and provides important real-time information. A weather station measures temperature, wind and rain.
Installation
The surface sensor is cleverly positioned on a house wall. At the same time, a state-of-the-art weather station is enthroned on a roof and an integrated pyranometer measures solar radiation. The data collected will form the basis for a future forecasting tool to enable the winter road maintenance service to be deployed even more efficiently and in a more targeted manner.
